[COVERAGE] ONEREPUBLIC LIVE IN MALAYSIA 2018

What an incredible way to end the the middle of the workweek, toughest day of the week being in One Republic’s KL concert 2018.

Night started off with opening acts by local artistes Hendrick Huang, Tabitha Lam, Rachel Syuen, Pang Yi Jia, Pang Yi Chuen and Madison Lau singing a medley of famous pop songs.  Zizan Razak came out and wrapped up the opening act with the catchy tune of Chentaku.

Clad in a tropical shirt and a fedora hat (fans may recognized from his Instagram posts, @ryantedder), Ryan Tedder and his band started off with a short intro of NbHD of their latest album Oh My My and smoothly into Stop and Stare.

They continued the show with Secrets, Kids and Good Life before addressing the crowd with the infamous Bahasa Malaysia greetings. And how much they missed being in KL since their last visit in 2013.

Wherever I Go and Better was up next before he stopped and gave appreciation to the setting of the stadium with the twin towers behind and that they only know about an outdoor venue on the day itself. Major clues were given on their new album dropping soon, with hints of collaboration with American rapper, Logic. Can’t wait!

Feel Again was performed next before he sat down on his piano and started singing famous songs that he wrote. Halo written for Beyonce. Happier by Ed Sheeran, being all humorous on how Ed changed the piano arrangement to a guitar one and also imitating a British accent.

I Lived, All The Right Moves, and also a song written for Need for Speed game (Born To Race) were lined up. Some lucky fans were greeted by Ryan as he walked down the stage during Something I Need. In between Apologize, Rich Love and I Lose Myself, he commented on our infamous weather and how it was winter in the states.

Not forgetting to introduce the rest of the band members, Zach Filkins, his high school buddy on guitars, Drew Brown on keys, Eddie Fisher on drums and also Brent Kutzle on bass.

After the encore chants and we-want-mores, they wrapped up the concert with Counting Stars and Love Runs Out. Rest assured that our love for One Republic will never run out!
